We’re planning to run a weekend foray based on our home island of Orust in West Sweden, where landscapes are beautiful and peaceful, and picking conditions ideal for finding a good variety and quantity of wild edible mushrooms, later this year. We have talked a lot about how lovely it is on our Derbyshire forays, and many people have asked over the years about coming over to Sweden. Now there is an opportunity to share this fantastic experience with us!
Dates: Fri 9 – Mon 12 October 2020
Accommodation: Our summerhouse on Orust is in fact two fully furnished houses on the same plot of land, and there are a limited number of beds in the Grey House house which is next to the Red House, where we live when we are in Sweden. The Grey House has a king size double bedroom and a triple bedroom, plus a double sofa bed downstairs. These can be hired on a self catering basis for those dates (or longer if wanted). Price per night for the double room is £80 and for the triple room £90. The sofa bed is £20 per night. Shared facilities (shower room/toilet/washing machine; kitchen diner/lounge). Bedding and towels are included in the price. You can see details of the accommodation (NB: the Grey House only, as we will be staying in the Red House) here: https://www.stugknuten.
Travel: to Gothenburg. If you are flying, Ryanair for example flies to Landvetter airport from Manchester, Edinburgh and Stansted. The island of Orust where we are based is approximately 1.5 hours away. It’s possible to travel to our property on public transport, and we are happy to provide more information about how, but we do recommend hiring a car as the quickest and easiest way to reach us, and can also provide details of a company we use regularly if required.
